Cefla North America (Charlotte, N.C.) has added a lab application technician position to its finishing laboratory team, promoting Samuel Mask to fill it. This position will provide additional coverage to daily lab activities surrounding customer testing as well as product research and development.
Mask started his time with Cefla North America as a lab intern in October 2019. Since then, he has shadowed lab manager Mike Lowe and senior lab technician Benny Smith. Mask’s training has also included instruction from technical director Lorenzo Pavone, Cefla’s senior technical expert in North America.
“Sam has a bright future,” says managing director Massimo Di Russo. “His attention to detail, technical abilities and personal interests make him a great fit for the role. Although Sam is not new to Cefla, we could not be happier to have him join the team in a permanent capacity.”
Mask has an associate degree in Computer Integrated Machining and is currently pursuing an associate degree in Science. In addition, Sam’s internship included more than a year’s worth of accelerated, hands-on training in Cefla’s North American finishing lab with emphasis on the latest digital printing and robotics technologies. His personal pursuits include astronomy, photography, astrophotography, 3D modeling and robotics. Sam continues to learn alongside his team, including knowledge of substrates, fluid management, pump/gun/mixing solutions, robotics, industrial digital printing and troubleshooting techniques.
