FANUC’s CNC series 30i/31i-L model B high-speed laser controls are said to increase productivity with Ethernet and Ethernet/IP field bus options and newly supported FANUC NCGuide simulation software.

FANUC’s CNC series 30i/31i-L model B high speed laser controls are said to increase productivity with Ethernet and Ethernet/IP field bus options and newly supported FANUC NCGuide simulation software.  The integration of the CNCs and robots to cell controllers is designed to make it easier for fabricators to manage operations across equipment controlled by various systems. According to the company, utilizing new standardized field bus architectures will streamline system integration and data sharing, which in turn will increase efficiencies, reduce setup, improve part quality, create safer work environments and increase productivity.

The series 30i/31i-L model B CNC has an embedded Ethernet interface, enabling the user to integrate the system into a company network for data collection or for high-speed part program transfers. Links can be set up via the Internet for more efficient remote diagnosis, maintenance and online training. Because the integrated Ethernet interface does not use a public operating system, it is virtually “hacker-free” and immune to viruses, the company says.

FANUC’s NCGuide simulation software is said to provide a realistic operation and programming interface, and offers a safe environment to optimize programs on the PC while keeping the machine in the shop in production. Ladder development and troubleshooting can be done as cycles are tested via NCGuide. Conventional G-code programming, including canned cycles and custom macros, and FANUC’s conversational programming Manual Guide i also are supported.
