MetoKote Corporation, the world's largest applicator of protective coatings, recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commence the opening of their newest facility in Mebane, North Carolina.  Several company representatives, MetoKote's customer, GKN Driveline, and other local officials were on hand to commemorate the grand celebration.

MetoKote was approached by GKN Driveline in Roxboro, North Carolina in October, 2012, to collaborate with them on the coating of their steel drive shafts.  MetoKote was very familiar with GKN as they had already coated parts for them for several years in a few of their regional coating service centers around the United States.  With GKN having an additional facility in Mebane, NC, it was important for them to find a coater that could locate near both locations.  In less than 10 months from contract signing, equipment was built, installed and operating to begin the next chapter in the partnership between these two great companies.

"We were looking for more than just a supplier.  We wanted a company that offered the highest quality coating services in a location very close to our Roxboro facility, minimizing logistics costs," stated Mike Gallagher, director of purchasing US CVJ GKN.  "We felt MetoKote was a great option."

MetoKote president & CEO, Jeff Oravitz, also expressed that "MetoKote was pleased to have been chosen by GKN & is looking forward to a great business relationship.  We have valued them as a customer for the past several years and are thrilled to move to the next level with them."

Over 30 employees are already employed in this facility with expected growth of up to 50 when at full capacity.  The plant has adequate room for expansion.
