Question: We are in the process of installing an ISO 9002 quality assurance system.

Question:

We are in the process of installing an ISO 9002 quality assurance system. One of the problems we are running into during this process is that various specifications “called out” by our customers may be obsolete or have been replaced by new specifications (for example, some mil-spec standards replaced by ASTM standards). How can we keep up with the changes and revisions? Is there a company or organization that can handle this? S.K.

Answer:

I am not aware of any commercial organization that handles this problem on a “service” basis. That is why I included it in the column. I am hoping that one of our readers is aware of a solution and will pass it on to me. If I get responses, I will pass them on to you.
