CCAI’s third Finishing Pavilion and Conference at FABTECH – which took place from November 12 – 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center ‑ was the best yet, says CCAI Executive Director, Anne Goyer.
FABTECH drew a Las Vegas record 25,903 attendees with 5,300 evaluating paint and powder coating, and more than 3,000 evaluating plating processes. More than 160 individuals attended CCAI FINISHING Conference sessions at FABTECH as well.
“We received many terrific comments from exhibitors during tear down and following the show and all of the conference attendees I had a chance to chat with told me the conference sessions provided great information,” Goyer said. “A quick flip through the conference evaluations showed that our sessions were very highly evaluated as well.”
Goyer provided these important show and conference statistics:
•CCAI’s 2012 FINISHING Pavilion at FABTECH was the largest yet, encompassed more than 25,000 net square feet – approximately 2,000 more than last year in Chicago and double of our first event in Atlanta in 2010.
•CCAI’s FINISHING Conference exceeded all expectations with a total of 351 FINISHING educational sessions sold to more than 160 FINISHING Conference attendees. That’s a 30% increase over last year in Chicago and double of that in Atlanta.
•The opening day of the show in Las Vegas set an all-time record high for first day attendance, meaning that more than 15,000 people picked up badges that day (FABTECH does not send out badge prior to the show).
•Final overall attendance (measured by number of people that actually pick up a badge on site at the show) was 25,903, up 4,000 from the last time the show was in Las Vegas and exceeding the projected attendance of 25,000.
•An outstanding State-of-the-Industry panel that included CCAI Custom Coater member Shivie Dhillon drew several hundred people to the FABTECH Theater.
•The FABTECH Student Mentoring Program brought local Las Vegas students through the show floor to give them a firsthand look at finishing processes. Special thanks to John Cole of Parker Ionics and Mark Schmidt of DeVilbiss/Ransburg/BGK/Binks for volunteering to serve as mentors and escorting students through the FINISHING Pavilion.
