Trimite Powders Expanding Operations In South Carolina

 

Trimite Powders Inc., a manufacturer of powder coatings, will expand its existing operations in Spartanburg County.  The $3.7 million investment will double the size of their current facility and be completed by January, 2014.  Roebuck Buildings Co. of Spartanburg County will construct the expansion.

“Trimite Powders has enjoyed over 20 years of success in Spartanburg County since expanding from the United Kingdom to open its only North American production facility.  While this expansion will not generate any immediate new job growth, it positions the Spartanburg facility to capitalize on increased demand for our products and prepares us for the next stage of our growth plan.  We are grateful for the assistance we’ve received from the local economic development community, namely the Spartanburg Economic Futures Group and Duke Energy,” says Dean Edwards, President of Trimite Powders Inc.

The Spartanburg Community College’s Center for Business & Entrepreneurial Development continues to pay economic development dividends.

“Spartanburg Community College is always eager and willing to assist our existing industry in any way possible to facilitate their continued growth in Spartanburg County.  In this instance we were thrilled to leverage the resources of the Center for Business & Entrepreneurial Development and provide Trimite with temporary storage space for their new production equipment while construction is in process,” says Mike Forrester, Director of Economic Development of Spartanburg Community College and Economic Futures Group Board Member.
