A 2009 survey by the National Association of Manufacturers, the Manufacturing Institute and Deloitte found that most manufacturers are concerned about the skills shortage facing the U.S. when the economy begins to noticeably rebound.

We have a rather large plastic part. After painting it shows swirls that appear to be made by a brush. These marks are visible in certain areas underneath the paint. The swirls are positive and can be felt using one’s finger. It’s actually like a lattice structure in layout. We apply a primer and a high-gloss urethane topcoat. A square-tube, aluminum railing was powdered coated when new (less than three years ago), then permanently installed in an outside setting in a mountain location. Over the winter, the tubing filled with water and froze, causing expansion in the aluminum, which resulted in the powder-coated finish peeling in several places. There must be some way to fix this!
