When you’re working hard just to keep your head above water, employee morale may not be too high on your list of priorities. One author, however, argues that hard times are exactly the time that managers should worry about motivating employees, since employee morale is essential to help keep your company afloat.

At the same time, it’s tough to think about financial incentives to boost productivity.

What to do? Here are 10 ways to pump up employee morale without breaking the bank.
