Green is Old Hat for Finishers

The movement’s been picking up momentum for a while now, and it’s starting to seem like 2008 might be the year of green—as in businesses going green. Companies from Wal-Mart and GM to Mom & Pop’s Store want to be perceived as eco-friendly.

Being green is nothing new to finishers, many of whom had the concept pretty much forced upon them years ago and have long since learned to deal with local, state and federal environmental regs that impact their businesses.

But does being truly green mean more than that? I don’t know the answer—maybe you have some ideas (see below). I do know that many finishers have done quite a lot to comply with regulations that have measurably cleaned up our air and water over the last 30 years or so. It remains to be seen if the current green movement can have that kind of lasting impact.
