Axalta Coating Systems (Houston, Texas) has announced the expansion of its global product portfolio to include the Alesta Global Color Collection, an architectural powder coatings line.

“The Global Color Collection portfolio is designed to meet the needs of our architectural customers on a global basis while continuing to provide the high-quality service our customers expect from our dedicated team of professionals,” says Bill Sante, global director, marketing and business development for Axalta’s powder coating operations.

The color series is said to be inspired by iconic locations such as China’s Forbidden City, the Horseshoe Bend in Arizona, France’s Mont Blanc and an ancient Mayan Pyramid in Mexico. The collection is available in fine texture, matte, semi-gloss and high-gloss finishes with good weatherability, elasticity and abrasion resistance. Compatible with aluminum or steel substrates, these powder coatings suit hand railings, fencing and residential aluminum extrusions. They have high color retention and are environmentally responsible, meeting AAMA, Qualicoat and GSB standards.

This will be the first in a series of launches of the Global Color Collection which will cover a variety of RAL colors in various finishes.

The use of powder coatings on construction materials such as cladding and aluminum extrusions has proven beneficial, according to the company, and is already an established practice in Europe.
