NASF warns its members, especially those using cadmium, to carefully review EPA's recent action on cadmium and cadmium compounds

The NASF is warning its members, especially those using cadmium, to carefully review EPA's recent action on cadmium and cadmium compounds.

The prepublication copy of the rule is available online HERE. The rule may set a precedent for other metals, as EPA may use this approach for other metals in the future. NASF is reviewing the applicability of and the potential impacts of the rule for finishing, and plans to coordinate with the International Cadmium Association and other trade associations to submit information as to why cadmium compounds should be withdrawn from this rulemaking.

The rulemaking has not been published in the Federal Register, but when it is, there will only be 14 days to submit comments. Please contact Jeff Hannapel with any questions or comments at jhannapel@thepolicygroup.com.
