Chemetall Opens $25 Million Facility in Michigan

Chemetall is opening a $25-million, 200,000-sq-ft chemical manufacturing plant in Blackman Township, Mich., that will house administrative, manufacturing and warehousing operations, and a physical testing laboratory.

Chemetall, a manufacturer of surface treatment and metal processing technologies, is opening a $25-million, 200,000-sq-ft chemical manufacturing plant in Blackman Township, Mich., that will house administrative, manufacturing and warehousing operations, and a physical testing laboratory.

More than 900 Chemetall products will be produced at the 40-acre site for applications in surface treatment, metal fabrication, cleaning and sanitizing. Automation advancements, including bulk material handling systems, mixing vessels and packaging lines, have been incorporated into the new facility to increase productivity, as well as improve product yield and quality. Chemetall also has installed a semi-automated waste treatment system that it says will reduce process wastewater by 90 percent.
