The metrology lab and technical staff provide critical test and analysis data during the life cycle of products.

Durex Industries, a Cary, Ill.-based designer and manufacturer of heaters, temperature sensors, controls and systems, recently announced expansion of its test and analysis capabilities into a new 2,000-sq. ft. metrology laboratory. The metrology lab and technical staff provide critical test and analysis data during the life cycle of products.

A scanning electron microscope (SEM) was a recent addition to Durex Industries’ analysis capabilities. The SEM has increased response to internal and customer requirements for material and performance analysis.

Metrology tests and analysis often performed at Durex Industries include: microstructural analysis such as grain size measurement, inclusion level, and weld penetration; SEM imaging; EDS elemental composition analysis; thermal and x-ray imaging; finite element analysis; and micro-hardness analysis.
