The Perma Shield 1000 system provides protection against red rust as well as white corrosion.

Specialty chemical and coating supplier Enthone (West Haven, Connecticut) has announced General Motors' approval of its Perma Shield 1000 zinc-nickel system to meet the GMW4700 Zinc Nickel Type B requirement. The approval was granted for three processes making up the system, including Zincrolyte KLC-NI ammonia-free, acid zinc-nickel; Perma Pass Ultra IV Plus low-temperature, transparent passivate; and Enseal 1303 sealant formulated to meet automotive requirements.

The Perma Shield 1000 system provides protection against red rust as well as white corrosion. Applicators have achieved productivity gains as a result of reduced plating times on high-hardness parts with the system's initiation and efficiency.
