The partnership has produced a new educational track for students in the state of Georgia.

Siemens Industry Sector in the United States has partnered with the Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE) to develop courses for the Career Pathways program, an initiative of the Georgia Department of Education. Georgia students participating in the program are trained using a curriculum based on the employment needs of international companies with facilities in the state.

The GFPE, a state-chartered not-for-profit organization, worked with Siemens to develop the Manufacturing Pathway based on training materials, manuals and other educational tools used at the company’s Drive Technologies manufacturing plant in Alpharetta, Georgia. The pilot program will be delivered at South Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia, by a teacher trained at Siemens. Eventually, the program will also include internships, work-based learning projects and cultural opportunities in Germany.
