Lloyd Ploof has joined Metal Chem Inc. as a regional sales manager and technical service provider for the Northeast and Midwest U.S. He replaces Marc Aleksinas in the region, who is relocating to South Carolina as business manager for Metal Chem. Ploof’s vast knowledge and technical expertise in electroless nickel coatings will continue Metal Chem’s growth throughout North America.
Along with sales and service, Ploof will be involved in directing technical papers related to electroless nickel coatings for trade conventions. He will author and deliver a talk on “Corrosion Resistance Comparisons and Cost Savings of EN-plated mild steel vs. 400 Series Stainless Steel” at NASF Sur/Fin in June.
Previously, Ploof worked at Remington Arms, where he managed and improved internal chemical processes and outside vendor coatings. He also has extensive experience running operations, as the director of operations at two plating shops before joining Sirius Technology as a V.P. in 1996. For a number of years, Ploof worked in both technology development and product management for Sirius and later Coventya.
