MetoKote Corp. relocated its in-house performance test laboratory to a larger space within its Lima, Ohio, facility. The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)-certified 1,900-square-foot location offers a controlled environment, more space for future equipment needs and the ability to perform hundreds of different test methods.

“Our performance test laboratory demonstrates our commitment to quality and customer service,” says President and CEO Jeffrey Oravitz. “This service saves our customers time and money by eliminating the need to use outside laboratory services.”

The laboratory is staffed by two full-time employees and offers a variety of services, such as salt spray testing, cyclical corrosion testing, humidity testing, QUV accelerated weathering, hardness tests, solvent rubs and so on. Bi-weekly panel corrosion tests are performed on the company’s 78 process lines to ensure optimal process performance. The facility conducts production part approval process testing, performance specification testing to dictate coating requirements and collects research and development data. Laboratory personnel also maintain a specification library that includes material and performance specifications. The facility is recertified by A2LA every two years.
