MicroCare Corp. (New Britain, Connecticut), manufacturer of cleaning, coating and lubrication products, announced the addition of Agustin Mireles as regional sales manager to serve markets in Mexico. Based in El Paso, Texas, Mireles will oversee the company's support of maquiladoras (plants that import and assemble duty-free components for export), which are said to have been growing in the past few years with more manufacturers moving production from Asia to Mexico.
"Because of proximity to the US market, the NAFTA treaty and the availability of skilled labor, this may be the beginning of a golden time for the Mexican economy," said Dan Sinclair, MicroCare national sales manager. Even though MicroCare has shipped products to the country for more than ten years, Mr. Sinclair went on to say that Mireles' knowledge and skillset will ease Mexican market access to the company's expertise as well as its services.
"The telecom markets in Mexico are large, diverse and growing rapidly," Mr. Mireles explained, "and we look forward to serving these companies with our state-of-the-art Sticklers products formulated specifically to clean fiber-optic splices and connectors."
Mireles earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Durango in 2009, and immediately followed it with a master's degree in environmental management from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico City. He has worked as an industrial chemical analyst and subsequently as a regional sales manager for a major multinational company.
