Parker Trutec Inc.’s Urbana, Ohio, facility will construct a 57,000-square-foot building expansion with the addition of a third electrocoating line to the coatings application facility. This electrocoating process line addition is expected to launch mass production by the second quarter of 2017. The total project cost will exceed $8 million.

The 14-station electrocoating system is a fully-automated rack line which will enable an increase in production capacity for both existing and new customers, while enabling tighter quality industry standards for steel, galvanneal and aluminum substrates. This new line includes 3,000-pound rated racks and processing tank parameters of 16' × 7' 8 inches × 6' 6 inches. Additionally, this line has the capability of rack tilting at each station as needed. Parker Trutec has chosen Henkel brand pretreatment chemicals and Axalta electocoating paint for this new coating line.

Parker says the building will improve production flow and efficiency for large part processing and allow better use of existing floor space throughout the plant. The building addition will add four new trucking docks to the existing 29 docks currently in use.
