Powder coaters who have excess inventory can utilize a new website created by a Connecticut job shop to let them list and sell their excess powder.
PowderTrader.com was launched in January by Suraci Corp. in New Haven to let one job shop look at another shop’s excess inventory and purchase it directly through the website for a small service fee charged to the buyer.
The site allows the seller to list his powder by name, Ral number, color, chemistry and OEM. The seller can also choose if they would sell by the pound or box, giving a job shop the opportunity to purchase in smaller quantities if needed.
The company is also planning to launch another website, PowderControl.com, as a way for shops to manage their powder inventory. The site works directly with PowderTrader.com, so a job shop can manage and sell its inventory at the same time.
