Q-Lab VP, Marketing Elected as Chairman of ASTM Subcommittee

Q-Lab Corp. (Westlake, Ohio), producer of accelerated weathering equipment and outdoor exposure test services, announces that Brad Reis was recently elected as chairman of ASTM’s Subcommittee D01.27. This group focuses on accelerated testing for paints and coatings.

Reis has been serving as temporary chair of this subcommittee since June 2013. He is currently the vice president of marketing for Q-Lab.

Reis is an active member of numerous ASTM committees and subcommittees and has been involved in a number of working groups for the revision of various standards. He was in charge of the working group responsible for the release of ASTM D7869, a modern practice for accelerated weathering of transportation coatings, and is the project leader for the revision of ASTM G154, the practice of fluorescent UV exposure of non-metallic materials.

Brad holds more than 30 U.S. patents and has authored many papers in the field of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and thermal management.
