Seco Tools has been named the 2013 Supplier of the Year for Marketing Excellence by the Industrial Supply Division of Affiliated Distributors, a network of 618 independent distributors and manufacturers of construction and industrial products. The award was presented as part of the group’s annual Spirit of Independence Awards, which recognize affiliates and suppliers who demonstrate what it considers to be consistent excellence in marketing, performance and/or leadership.
“At Seco, we believe in creating strategic partnerships with our distributors so that, together, we can accomplish greater objectives that ensure mutual success,” says Mike Parker, director of engineering, marketing and product development for Seco Tools. “We make every effort to align our work with our distributors’ needs, and this honor validates that approach. It is also a testament to the dedication and collaboration of our internal sales, distributor and marketing teams.”
Specifically, Seco Tools points out its Marketing-On-Demand service, which offers co-branded material and sales support to the company’s more than 100 North American distributors. Seco Tools also provides its distributors with quarterly industry-related newsletters, monthly marketing and public relations updates, product launch kits, and comprehensive training initiatives.
“Over the past year, we've continued to put substantial resources behind supporting our distributors,” says Bob Carson, manager-distribution and business development. “In addition to overhauling our Marketing-On-Demand system, we've included contacts from our distributors in a wide range of strategic activities, including product and applications education through dedicated courses in STEP, the Seco Technical Education Program.”
