Sherwin-Williams executive Thomas Grady, a member of the board of the Powder Coating Institute, died unexpectedly on July 19 at age 45.

Grady joined Sherwin-Williams following the company’s Pratt and Lambert acquisition and evolved into liquid and ultimately into the Metal Building Products group. He was instrumental in getting the company’s Kynar coatings into the field through testing and the approval process.

Grady is survived by his wife, Jane, and daughters Elizabeth and Kaitlyn. The family has created a college fund for Grady's two children; one is currently in college, and the other is in high school. Donations can be made to the Educational Fund at M&T Bank, 740 Maple Rd., Williamsville, NY 14221.
