Wagner Systems Inc. announces that it will be launching a new application center operation in Charleston County, South Carolina. Representing a capital investment of $2.3 million, the new development aims to lead the creation of more than 30 jobs over the next five years.

“Wagner’s vision is to be the most innovative company in fluid and powder applications in everything we do, and we are looking forward to continuing our vision in South Carolina,” says Wagner Systems president of the Americas, Martin Rola. “The expansion will provide a state-of-the-art facility for us to work with our customers to optimize their process prior to introducing it into their manufacturing operations. We manufacture coatings application equipment and systems, and our customers use this equipment to apply coatings to their products, so to serve them best, we need to excel in our understanding and execution of the overall process.”

The new facility will feature full liquid and powder spray booth capabilities including robotic automation as well as adhesive and sealant equipment. According to the company, the facility is designed to replicate a production environment for coatings application, serving as a resource for Wagner to develop new applications in liquid and powder, and sealants and adhesives with paint material suppliers and customers.

Expected to be operational by the end of summer 2017, the company’s new Charleston County application center will be located in the Atlas Commerce Center at 8351 Palmetto Commerce Parkway in Ladson, South Carolina. With facilities in the Midwest and Western parts of the U.S., this new operation will augment Wagner’s existing facilities in Chicago and Denver.

Wagner says the Southeast is one of the key regions where it wants to add additional resources to support the investment and expansion taking place there.

“South  Carolina is full of talented people, and that’s why we know an advanced materials company like Wagner Systems can succeed here. We are grateful to the company’s leadership for the commitment they have shown to our state with this investment, and look forward to seeing what this partnership will mean for our state and for this great company in the future,” says South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster.
