The company collaborated with 3M to develop the fluoroplastic solution, which is suited for industries such as metalworking, electroplating, steel pickling, chemical processing and other applications that employ harsh acids and highly corrosive materials.

The shell and tube heat exchanger components are extruded from a high-thermoconductivity perfluoroalkoxy fluoropolymer. This material’s non-stick properties and chemical inertness help resist the fouling, corrosion and scale buildup, while Ametek’s “Q” additive is designed to provide additional durability and thermal efficiency.
