Atotech’s announces the new UniPrep Pretreatment System for powder coating. The system is the latest technology in pretreatment prior to powder coating, which is designed to help eliminate formation of scale and sludge, frequent dumping of solutions and higher operating temperatures, thereby providing less maintenance, reduced waste treatment and increased energy savings.
The system is said to be a clean, sludge-free process, which can eliminate the need for frequent and costly tank and spray nozzle cleaning. The process employs bioremediation, which removes soils and oils thereby helping to eliminate the need for regular dumping of process solutions. And, lower operating temperatures of 110–125°F can provide significant savings in natural gas or propane use.
