Atotech’s Adhemax is an electroless process for decorative plating on plastics, including most plate-able ABS, PP and ABS/PC blends. Compared with other plating on plastic processes, it is extremely stable and offers excellent selectivity on 2K components, the company says. It is designed not to produce precipitations in the concentrates and working solutions, and to eliminate rack metallization.
As a short pretreatment process, Adhemax is comprised of just five process steps prior to the final electroplating step. Designed for automatic lines, it allows for stable and consistent processing of a variety of plastic components with an extended solution lifetime, the company says.
