Auto-Vac Filter Technology Removes Particles from Sludge

ALAR Engineering Corp. offers its Auto-Vac filter technology for removing particles from sludge.

ALAR Engineering Corp. offers its Auto-Vac filter technology for removing particles from sludge. According to ALAR, a zinc plater used a clarifier and filter press to process rinse water and acid tank dumps. The filter press was said to produced wet solids and the water weight in the solids created high hauling costs. The press also took three days to filter 1,000 gallons of acid tank dump.

The plater then submitted samples for bench testing and tested its wastewater with ALAR equipment. ALAR claims that using its Auto-Vac filter system, zinc and chrome levels were eight times lower than the clarifier and filter press, solids were twice as dry, and the system filtered 5,000 gallons of acid tank dump in eight hours.
