A large-format, inkjet-type 3D printer for large industrial prototypes has been launched by Stratasys Ltd., Eden Prairie, Minn. Featuring a 1000 x 800 x 500 mm (39.3 x 31.4 x 19.6 in.) build envelope, the Objet1000 is one of the few units on the market that can simultaneously jet two materials. It offers a choice of over 100 materials, including ABS-grade engineering plastics. It can print up to 14 different materials in a single part or mixed parts on the same build tray.
