Elcometer introduces its 500 coatings thickness gage. According to the company, the coatings thickness gage supports the non-destructive measurement of dry film thickness on concrete quickly and accurately.

Features include menu-driven color display, user selectable statistics, memory, USB and bluetooth data transfer to PC or mobile devices. In addition, the Elcometer 500 is said to accurately measure the thickness of dry film on concrete and other similar cementitious substrates such as plasterboard, drywall, concrete block, mortar and brick up to 10-mm thick.

The gage is said to complete more than 60 readers per minute in standard mode and over 140 readings per minute in scan mode. It is also designed to prevent false or incorrect readings and is compatible with Android and iPod, iPhone and iPad devices.
