Saint-Gobain Abrasives’ Norton Quantum X creepfeed wheels for free-cutting feature three propriatary technologies: a pore-induced construction, the company’s Quantum ceramic abrasive and a strong bond.
The creepfeed wheels can be used on large areas of contact applications and offer exception form and corner-holding. According to the company, they can reduce grinding cycle times by as much as 50 percent, while using more than 20 percent less power.
The wheels are suited for a variety of applications ranging from low to medium and high force on heat-sensitive, hard-to-grind Inconel, titanium and aerospace alloys. They are available in six sizes ranging from 16 × 1 × 5 inches to 20 × 5 × 8 inches. Unfinished blank stock wheels are also available in various abrasives and grit sizes and can be customized to meet a user’s dimensional requirements.
