SurTec will feature its new 609 ZetaCoat pretreatment for steel, zinc, aluminum and zinc die-casting. It can be used as a replacement for zinc and zinc-iron phosphate coatings, and can be applied via spray or soak prior to painting or powder coating.
The process is based on trivalent chromium technology and is designed to produce a nanometer-thin, protective yellowish layer that provides improved paint adhesion. SurTec 609 ZetaCoat is zinc-, manganese-, nickel-, phosphate- and nitrate-free, and does not contain hazardous mutagen additives such as hydroxylamine or hydroxyl ammonium sulfate. It forms little to no sludge and is run at room temperature.
