conformal cooling lines

Linear Mold & Engineering builds conformal cooling lines using direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) to complement its mold manufacturing. The company recently added DMLS capacity to meet demand, giving it four EOS M270 machines and a new EOS M280 machine. It also has installed a SLM 280 selective laser melting machine from SLM Solutions, which features a larger build chamber and is expected to enhance the company’s capacity to build larger components.
Conformal water lines address limitations of traditional machining. According to Linear, this technology excels in cases where part designs have varying wall thicknesses, tight tolerances and challenging geometry. It enables even cooling and is said to prevent warp, sinks and other quality problems.
Linear Mold will be at amerimold 2013 in Booth 117. Register today!
