Okuma America Corporation’s double column machining center, the MCR-A5CII, includes multiple heads and can now machine all five sides of a part from a single setup. With this machine, it takes only two to three setups to accomplish the same tasks that require five to six setups on a VMC. This reduction in setup time saves end users time and money, and also minimizes chances for costly errors, the company says.
The MCR-A5CII double column machining center delivers true five-sided machining in a compact footprint. The solid double column construction ensures more rigidity and close tolerances, making this machine well-suited for the efficient machining of general parts and rapid die/mold jobs, according to the company.
