Dymax Corp.’s Edge-Carry series of conveyors is designed for rapid curing of ultraviolet and/or visible-light-sensitive adhesives, inks and coatings on sensitive components. According to the company, typical belt-transport-style conveyors can cause clearance issues or damage to parts such as printed circuit boards that are populated on two sides or palletized components. Edge-Carry conveyors are designed to provide seamless transition from upstream and downstream assembly, dispense, and transport systems to save time and improve manufacturing efficiency.
The conveyors can be outfitted with a variety of lamp configurations to address application-specific requirements, and they are said to offer consistent cure times and complete shielding from UV light. Standard height clearance is 0.75 inch across the entire 180-inch width, which is suitable for low-profile parts such as PCBs, and up to 6 inches across a 13.75-inch width, which can be increased to either 8 or 12 inches with optional risers.
