Unlike conventional spot-curing systems, the Dymax BlueWave LED VisiCure system requires no warm up nor consumable bulbs to change, while offering cooler curing temperatures and high-intensity output for thousands of hours.

The spot-curing system uses high-intensity LEDs to generate curing energy in a relatively narrow wavelength band centered at 405 nm, which generates cooler curing temperatures at the substrate level. It delivers more than 15 W/cm2 of output through a 5-mm-diameter light guide, but the system’s design is said to eliminate safety concerns from the high heat generated by units with end-of-wand LEDs. The system also includes a feature that enables users to adjust and control intensity output from 0 to 100 percent to assist with process validation and control. Intensity level measurement can be easily accomplished with a radiometer.

Dymax also has developed co-optimized adhesives specifically designed to cure with the BlueWave LED VisiCure system and to enable customers to easily convert to LED light-curing systems.
