Exair Corp. has expanded its Long Super Ion air knives to a range from 60" (1,524 mm) to a maximum length of 108" (2,743 mm). All knives 60" and longer are now made using a one-piece construction, ensuring seamless airflow and eliminating the need to join multiple short-length air knives together. This construction also decreases overall height by ½ inch, making it better for tight spaces. The knives are offered in a variety of materials and sizes, from 3 to 108 aluminum as well as 303 and 316 stainless steel.

These air knives neutralize static electricity while blowing away dust and particulates from wide webs and printed surfaces, paper, plastics, wood, acrylic and three-dimensional shapes. The wide laminar airstream is effective at high speeds and cleans effectively as far away as 20 ft. According to the company, the knives can eliminate equipment downtime, poor print quality, dust attraction, tearing and jamming caused by processes such as laminating, printing, routing and thermoforming.

In addition to performance, the air knives are efficient and adjustable, operating effectively down to 5 psig. They use a minimal amount of compressed air to entrain high volumes of surrounding room air. The shockless design is UL-component-recognized to U.S. and Canadian safety standards. There are no moving parts to wear out. A factory-installed plumbing kit is also available that makes it easy to connect the air knives to a compressed air system.
