Graco will display its E-Flo DC electric circulating pumps, which are designed to operate by maintaining either constant pressure or a constant flow rate. According to the company, they are more efficient than similarly sized pneumatic pumps, resulting in significantly lower electric costs.
The E-Flow DC uses a highly efficient electric motor to maintain constant fluid pressure, and its Dual Control technology also uses less energy to provide more consistent finishes, the company says. An integrated runaway protection system protects the pumps from premature wear, reducing costly material loss and maintenance, and increasing the pump’s longevity. The pumps are said to be easy to install, requiring only single-phase, 110/220-v, 50/60-Hz power with no variable frequency drive required.
Graco also will showcase its ProMix PD2K positive displacement proportioner, which mixes the material close to the gun, so the flush zone is smaller. This makes it possible to reduce solvent use and mixed material waste over traditional proportioners. With limited mixed material in the system, it works well for short-pot-life materials; it is also compatible with acid-based materials.
The ProMix PD2K is designed to produce accurate mix ratios and more consistent pump performance. It can manage as many as 30 colors and four catalysts with the use of two or four dosing pumps. It also enables users to proportion both epoxy and urethane in one system rather than using multiple units. Unlike gear pumps, the proportioner has positive displacement precision dosing pumps that do not require factory rebuilds and can be quickly serviced in the field.
