Grieve’s No.996 is a large, gas-fired, 350ºF (177ºC) walk-in oven, currently used for batch processing large composite structures. Workspace dimensions measure 10 × 32 × 8 ft.; 1.2 million Btu/hr are installed in a modulating natural gas burner to heat the unit, while a total of 49,000 cfm from two 20-hp recirculating blowers provide combination airflow to the workloads.
The oven features 4" insulated walls throughout; aluminized steel interior and exterior; and a removable, top-mounted heat chamber. The oven body is split into four sections for shipment, and mating angle iron frames are provided for easy reassembly in the field.
All safety equipment required by IRI, FM and National Fire Protection Association Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment also are included, including an 8,000-cfm-powered forced exhauster for quick purge and cool down, motorized dampers on the intake and exhaust for accelerated cooling, and a 10"-diameter circular chart recording and programming temperature controller.
