To satisfy mold customers who wanted more Y-axis travel without having to jump to the larger footprint of the VMX64 machining center, Hurco has introduced the VMX6030i, which offers 30" of travel in Y with travel of 60" and 24" in the X and Z axes, respectively.

According to Hurco, the VMX6030i also includes many standard features that competitive models offer as options, including a 40-tool swing-arm ATC, a 12,000-rpm spindle and a 115-gallon coolant tank. The machining center also has a larger table with a working surface of 66.14" × 30" inches and includes a Hurco UltiMotion motion system, which is designed to reduce cycle time and improve surface finish. As with all Hurco machine tools, the VMX6030i is powered by the integrated Hurco control that supports both ISO/EIA and conversational programming.
