Argentomerse NC, a new nitrate-free immersion silver process from Technic, is for use as a solderable finish on printed circuit boards and other electronic devices. Operating at a slightly alkaline pH, the product produces a thin, uniform deposit that meets the requirements of IPC-4553. According to the company, the formula, unlike acidic nitrate-based systems, has a high tolerance for contaminants like chloride and copper. When coupled with Tarniban 60 Post Dip (metallic anti-tarnish protection) Argentomerse NC is designed to provide 12 months of shelf life under normal storage conditions.
