Thermocoax SaS introduces its longstanding heating-cable technology to composites processing.

Thermocoax SaS (Paris, France, and Atlanta, Ga.), a first-time exhibitor at COMPOSITES 2013, introduced its longstanding heating-cable technology to composites processing. Its infrared heating systems use Inconel or stainless steel wires and cables for noncontact thermoplastic welding in the automotive market. Because the system does not contact the parts, there is no vibration and, therefore, no dust or residue that can contaminate the weld line. Also available are heating systems that reportedly can heat tools to 1000°C/1832°F, regardless of tool complexity.
