The Rhopoint IQ Flex 20 from Paul N. Gardner Co. is a reference instrument for measuring reflective appearance, including gloss, haze, distinctiveness of image (DOI) and goniophotometer curves. Previously only available for measuring flat surfaces, the instrument is now available in a format designed for curved surfaces as well as small and delicate parts. In a single fast measurement, it captures information about the gloss and texture on a sample surface. Combined gloss, haze and orange peel (DOI/RIQ values) information suits the instrument to controlling appearance finish in the paints and coatings sector, particularly for automotive and marine coatings.

The instrument provides easy results patching with user-definable names, Bluetooth compatibility for data transmission and full onboard statistics and graphs. Its magnetically attached adapter plates can be interchanged for different applications. A long battery life provides more than 17 hours of operation (or 20,000 readings) with a 4-hour recharge time. The integrated memory can hold as many as 999 readings with data transfer to PC via USB connection (no software required).
