Exair expands its Long Super Air Knives line to include a maximum length of 108" (2,743 mm) and is now manufacturing all knives 60" (1,524 mm) or longer in a one-piece construction. The construction is designed to ensure seamless airflow and eliminate coupling multiple short-length air knives together.
According to the company, the one-piece construction decreases the overall height by ½", which makes it suitable for tight spaces. The knives produce a laminar sheet of airflow to blow off, dry or cool wide surfaces as large as 108" (2,743 mm) wide. The energy-efficient design minimizes compressed air use by entraining 40 parts room air to one part compressed air. It is recommended for use on wide parts, webs and conveyors.
The knives are said to provide a uniform, high volume, high velocity curtain of air that is adjustable from gentle blowing force to a hard-hitting blast of air. The compact profile measures 1.75" × 1.44" with compressed air inlets located on each end and the bottom, permitting easy mounting in tight spaces. The knife is quiet, maintenance free, has no moving parts to wear out and is CE compliant, the company says.
The knives are available in 60" (1,524 mm), 72" (1,829 mm), 84" (2,134 mm), 96" (2,438 mm) and 108" (2,743 mm) lengths. They ship from stock choices of aluminum, Type 303 or Type 316 stainless steel. A factory installed plumbing kit is also available that makes it easy to connect the knives to any plant compressed air system and obtain suitable performance.
