The TRU TEMP low-temp black oxide process operates at 200°F and is designed to serve as a direct replacement for dangerous hot oxides that normall operate at higher temperatures. Using a patented, two-step chemistry, the process is said to form a black magnetite finish of 0.00020-inch thickness that satisfies applicable Mil Specs and is said to contain no EPA regulated metals
