Luster-On will be highlighting its Aluminescent, a powdered product used to form a chromate conversion coating on aluminum surfaces without the use of hexavalent chromium. Aluminescent is a replacement for yellow or clear hexavalent chromates and is said to provide excellent corrosion protection at low cost and forms a base for paint, lacquer or rubber bonding. The chromate can be applied by dip, spray, brush, swab or roll coating and requires no electric current, cooling or exhaust. The product is designed to yield clear, slightly iridescent films while forming a protective surface with lower electrical resistance than anodizing. The product is designed to be suitable for both wrought and cast aluminum alloys and is designed for ease of operation with minimum control.
