MacDermid, Inc. will be showcasing its TriMacIII trivalent chrome plating process, specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements for exterior automotive chrome plating. It is said to provide the same corrosion performance, coating thickness and deposit color as decorative hexavalent chrome plating processes, while delivering all the advantages of trivalent chrome systems. It is designed to be safe and an environmentally friendly alternative to hex chrome. As a trivalent plating process, it is not subject to OSHA hexavalent chrome PEL limits.
A viable replacement for all decorative hexavalent chrome plating applications, the process has already gained approval for both interior and exterior automotive applications from several automotive OEMs.
