NEI Corp.’s Nanomyte PT-60 is a self-healing, chromate-free conversion coating formulated to provide corrosion protection for magnesium alloys. When used as a pretreatment, it also can improve adhesion with an overlying paint layer (primer). According to the company, this coating offers as much or better protection against corrosion than conventional chromate conversion coatings, approaching the protection level of a more-expensive, state-of-the-art anodized coating.
