BioClean’s BioPrep 20/100 NS is a low temperature (105-135°F), mildly alkaline (pH 8.8-9.2) self-regenerating cleaner/degreaser designed for use in galvanizing lines. Because it is non-silicated and uses low quantities of salts, there is no need to rinse after cleaning, eliminating one rinse tank and shortening the process cycle time. The microscopic layer of tensides that remains on the surface of parts after cleaning pre-wets the surface, so pickling is accelerated and uniform over the surface of the parts, the company says.

Also designed to be used in galvanizing lines without a rinse, the company’s BioPrep HP3A acid cleaner is applicable for removal of paint and varnishes and to help loosen scale prior to pickling. BioPrep Acid Kleer is added to hydrochloric acid or other pickles to extend the life of the pickle and reduce the frequency of dumps and rebuilds. BioPrep M-80 is an inhibitor that enables the pickle to consume oxides but protects the base metal from etching, reducing acid consumption.
