Nordson Corp.’s ColorMax 2 powder coating system incorporates features designed to ensure fast, contamination-free color change, easy installation and trouble-free maintenance, enabling powder coaters to increase productivity and line efficiency.
Powder-contact surfaces are accessible for ease of cleaning and visual inspection. The breakaway, dual cyclone enables the upper and lower sections to be disconnected for thorough cleaning, and, its interior surface can be cleaned of most powders with just a compressed air wand, the company says.
The ColorMax 2 booth also features a non-conductive canopy for minimal powder attraction and retention. Constructed with Apogee composite material, the booth also is designed for minimal powder in process and faster color change. Its stainless steel floor provides maximum durability and grounding of operators during cleaning for safety.
Other features include the AeroWash base cleaning system with air knives that use compressed air to periodically remove settled powder from the booth floor; the AeroDeck air distribution system, a high-velocity air stream that keeps airborne powder from the air knives moving to the cyclone; and automatic gun cleaning whereby high-pressure air knives provide automated cleaning of the gun exterior, eliminating disassembly and manual labor. The system also features Nordson’s iControl 2 integrated control system, Prodigy HDLV technology, Encore feed center and in-line pump, and Encore manual and automatic guns.
